I am 30 years old, currently based in Europe. I grew up in Vienna, Austria, where I completed my MA in Public Relations and my MA in Media Studies while working as a PR assistant at Kapsch AG. I went on to work as a freelance PR consultant and completed a post-grad research project funded by the University of Vienna about Corporate Culture and Communication in sustainability-oriented Organizations (like The Natural Step and IKEA ) in Sweden. During this time I acquired important knowledge about organizational culture and communication as well as the ability to develop new concepts from my findings.
In 2003 I decided to take a closer look at working in a medium that I have been very passionate about all my life: film. I moved to New Zealand, where I completed a one-year course in film and TV production and went on to work on commercials (eg. Toyota Aurion), TV shows (eg. My Story), and local as well as Hollywood movies (eg. 10,000 BC) in the area of production and as an Assistant Director. Working hands on in this field gave me crucial insight into the process and the effort that goes into producing video content.
At the beginning of 2007 I decided that it was time to use my knowledge in a new way, and I have been working internationally as a Social Media consultant since. Combining my in-depth knowledge of all areas of media conception, production and reception I am creating and constantly enhancing tools to diagnose organizations’ readiness for different kinds of Social Media and to help them develop and implement a suitable Social Media strategy.
In March 2008 I moved to Europe to work as a consultant there as well as internationally. Furthermore, I am working on a website (kickeyes, still in the conceptional phase) which will enable filmmakers to diagnose the best online and offline marketing and distribution channels for their films and their agenda. I am also holding a lecture on TV advertising at the Institute for Media Studies and Journalism at the University of Vienna.
